MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- Search engine giant Google has released its 12th annual Google Zeitgeist list of most popular search terms of 2012.
"Zeitgeist", a German word for "spirit of the times", uses data from multiple sources while filtering out spam and repeat queries to build more than 800 top-ten lists across pop culture, sports, music, politics, news, and more.
Here are the top three in each category:
