2-Year-Old Child in Critical Condition After Being Left in Vehicle for 8 Hours, Police Say

A 2-year-old is in critical condition after authorities said he was left strapped in his car seat inside a vehicle for eight hours earlier this week.

According to a report from the Hillsborough County (Fla.) Sheriff's Office, authorities said a 2-year-old boy was inadvertently left buckled in his car seat in a vehicle for eight hours. According to the news release, police said the boy's mother and father both thought the other one had removed the child from the vehicle.

The boy was transported to a hospital and is listed in critical condition, according to the news release.
