A freak accident in Maine last week.
According to the Bangor Daily News, a 5-year-old Maine boy's hand was severed last week when a jump rope he had wrapped around his hand while sitting in the backseat of a vehicle got caught on another vehicle that passed by.
Surgeons have reattached the boy's hand, according to a follow-up story from the Bangor Daily News.
