It was hot in July. Record-setting hot as a matter of fact.
According to a report from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, July was the hottest month on record in U.S. history. The average temperature in the continuous U.S. was 77.6 degrees for the month, besting the previous record of 77.4 degrees set in 1936.
