Mother Charged With Attempted Murder for Allegedly Putting Newborn in Clothes Dryer

A shocking story from Virginia.

According to the Richmond (Va.) Times-Dispatch, a 39-year-old Virginia woman has been charged with attempted murder and felony child neglect for allegedly putting her newborn in a plastic bag and inside a clothes dryer after giving birth at her home in late-August.

The baby was found alive inside the dryer by the woman's husband, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch report, and is now in the custody of state child protective services.
