Undated (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – The cost of attending a public university seems to only increase over the years.
According to an annual report by the U.S. Department of Education, the average tuition at a four year public university increased 15 percent between 2008 and 2010.
One of the most important factors in the increase is the cut in higher education spending last year, which was down by 40 percent of the states in the country.
However, the report also says that community colleges are still one of the most consistently affordable options for higher education.
Between 2007 and 2009, the average net price for community colleges increased by less than 1 percent.
