Composer and Conductor, Marvin Hamlish, Dies at Age 68

Los Angeles (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Award winning composer and conductor Marvin Hamlisch has died.

Perhaps best known for the touching song "the Way We Were," Hamlish scored 40-films during his four-decade career, winning three Oscars, four Grammys, four Emmys, a Tony and three Golden Globes.

He also wrote the Broadway smash hit "a Chorus Line," which won a Pulizter Prize.

His family said he collapsed after a brief illness.

Hamlish was 68.
