CINCINNATI (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - A Cincinnati man will only spend a month in jail for imprisoning his 12-year-old daughter in a dog cage with bound feet and hands.
41-year-old James Tapke pleaded guilty to duct taping his daughter’s hands and feet and shutting her in the cage this past January as punishment.
Police say the girl spent only minutes in the cage and was not injured.
Tapke's attorney says Tapke claimed it was a joke that got out of hand.
The girl now lives with her paternal grandparents and Tapke has lost his custody rights.
