STARKE COUNTY, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - A Starke County man was found in possession of nearly two times his daily limit of fish Tuesday.

An Indiana Conservation Officer came across William D. Corey III, 55, who was bank fishing at Bass Lake. During a routine check of Corey’s catch, the officer found that Corey was in possession of 45 crappie, which is 20 fish over the daily bag limit of 25.

Corey was issued a summons to appear in court for the violations.

The illegal fish and fishing tackle were seized as evidence. If convicted, Corey faces additional fines of $690 for the replacement cost of the illegally taken fish.
