SPACE (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - 43-year-old Felix Baumgartner performed a daring freefall jump from 128,100 feet.
Baumgartner jumped from well beyond the previous record for a manned balloon jump set back in 1961 from 113,740 ft.
On Sunday, Baumgartner's jump lasted a total of 9:03 minutes, with a 4:20 freefall, a freefall distance of 119,846 ft and reached a maximum velocity of 833.9 mph/ Mach 1.24.
Just before leaving the capsule platform Baumgartner said, "Sometimes you have to go up really high before you understand how small you really are."
He landed safely 37-miles away from his launch location at Roswell, New Mexico.
