INDIO, CA (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Realistic hologram brings rapper back from the dead for Coachella performance

The crowd at the Coachella music festival witnessed a special performance Sunday night, when “Tupac Shakur” appeared on stage alongside former collaborators Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.

The hologram of the rapper, who has been dead for 15 years, had Twitter buzzing through the night and into Monday, where "#Tupac" and "#Coachella" were still among the top U.S. trends.

The social media crowd expressed mostly approval and excitement, even though some found it "creepy" and "weird."
Shakur died Sept. 7, 1996 outside MGM Grand in Las Vegas after a Mike Tyson boxing match. His shooting death has never been solved.

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is a six-day festival spread across two weekends. It featured heavy hitters from several music genres, including The Black Keys and Radiohead.
