UNDATED (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The Centers for Disease Control is racing to solve the mysterious outbreak of E. coli that has been reported in six states.

The death of a 21-month-old girl in New Orleans last week has been linked to at least 10 E. coli cases found in four southern states. Last week it was reported that an infant in New Orleans had died from the bacteria.

Thirteen people have been sick. Three people have been hospitalized.

Researchers at the Centers for Disease Control have not been able to identify the source of illness.

Experts say food is the likely source of the illness, and they are actively trying to identify a common link between these patients.
