One Dead, Dozens Injured In Louisiana Chemical Plant Explosion

GEISMAR, La. (www.incnow.tv)) –One person has been killed and dozens injured after an explosion at the Williams Olefins chemical plant this morning in Geismar, Louisiana.

300 workers were evacuated from the site while ten stayed to help shut down the plant. At least 73 people were transported to local area hospitals. A hazardous material team found the body while searching the plant after the explosion.

Geismar is located 20 miles southeast of Baton Rouge, Louisiana

The cause of the blast is still unknown. The Governor says that early tests do not indicate dangerous levels of chemicals in the air.
