Japan (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The scientists at the University of Tokyo's Ishikawa Oku Laboratory have created the ultimate Rock-Paper-Scissors strategist, able to win every time.
The “simple” hand game that normally relies on strategy, psychology and instinct has just become harder thanks to a robot.
The machine’s high-speed vision analyzes the way its opponent is shaping his or her hand and is able to identify within one millisecond the weapon that is about to be thrown its way. Once it can tell whether it will face rock, scissors, or paper, the robot can figure out what it should do to win.
It’s so fast that it’s hard to believe that the robot is actually waiting for you to decide before making the decision on how best defeat you.
