PHILADELPHIA (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - It’s a sign of the economic times as a woman makes off with over $2,000 in cash.
It happened at a Philadelphia convenience store when a man reached into his back pocket and unknowingly dropped two wads of money on the floor.
The incident was captured on surveillance video showing the woman reaching down and grabbing the money after the man paid for his purchases and left the store.
She was then seen looking around the store to make sure no one spotted her, before fleeing with the stolen money.
After a flood of anonymous tips, police arrested 28-year-old Stephanie Paparo Wednesday night.
Police say she confessed to the crime which took place four weeks ago.
Police officials say Paparo spent some of the money on her three children and gave the rest to her boyfriend to pay rent.
The victim told police he had hoped to use the money for a down payment on a car.
