FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – Father Lawrence Kramer died Thursday while vacationing in Florida.

Kramer grew up in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception where he was ordained in 1960.

Over the next half century, Kramer served at churches in Fort Wayne, Columbia City, Bluffton, Elkhart and South Bend. He also served as chaplain at Bishop Luers High School and helped in starting local college campus ministries.

Father Kramer retired in 2012, and had been assigned to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Fort Wayne.
