Whiting, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- The phones are ringing off the hook at the BP Refinery in Whiting after a batch of bad gas was distributed in Northwest Indiana.
The fuel may cause hard starting, stalling and other issues in vehicles.
Some gas stations have closed down their pumps as a result of the recall.
By Tuesday afternoon, BP says it had received 5,000 calls from people with damaged vehicles.
Ricker's BP in Fort Wayne did not receive any of the fuel.
