FORT WAYNE, Indiana (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels came to town Wednesday to commemorate the opening of the Lima Road Expansion.
The project takes the road to three lanes in each direction from Dupont Road to Washington Center Road, and took parts of three-years to build.
Officials snipped a ribbon around 2 pm, to signify the majority of the work is finally done.
Bob Alderman with the Fort Wayne INDOT District says, “We recognize that a lot of the development in this county is going out northeast, and we're trying to accommodate that as well."
State Senator Tom Wyss says Allen County has seen $200-million worth of road improvement projects since 2006, when the governor's "Major Moves" program launched.
