FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) --- There appears to be light at the end of the tunnel regarding efforts to restore a unit at Fort Wayne's VA Hospital that has been shut down since October.
Critical inpatient care units suddenly shut down last month, a move that VA officials said at the time was to allow for a review of processes and to provide staff training.
Congressman Marlin Stutzman says instead, it looks like staff retirements and dismissals caused an upheaval, which is being remedied for a re-start by December.
" We were told today that they did hire a local coordinator for the hospital. What we've discovered is that there's just a complete collapse of the administration at the VA," said Stutzman, the Republican representative for Indiana’s 3rd Congressional District.
Stutzman also defended the unwillingness of Congressional Republicans to compromise with the President and agree to tax hikes on higher income Americans, saying those increases would undoubtedly throw the fragile economy back into recession.
