UNITED STATES (www.incnow.tv) – According to a study, Division I schools now spend more on athletics than they do on education.
In fact, the six BCS conferences are now spending an average of $100,000 per athlete. That is 12 times the amount they are spending on academics. Perhaps the biggest culprit and this should come as no surprise, the southeastern conference winners of the last seven BCS National Championships.
The schools in that conference spent a staggering $163,000 an athlete in 2010. Coaches in the SEC make at least two million dollars a year.
