GEORGIA/ FLORIDA (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - In the south, two brothers and their big sister, who investigators say are heavily armed, are on the run and apparently willing to die.
Dubbed the Dougherty Gang, the two brothers and a sister -- all in their 20's -- are now the focus of a massive manhunt, after a two-state crime spree.
Their rampage began last Tuesday near Tampa just moments after one brother cut off a court-ordered ankle bracket.
When an officer tried to pull them over for speeding, the siblings allegedly fired at least 20-shots at the officer.
The FBI also thinks the siblings robbed a bank in Georgia with an automatic pistol and an AK-47.
Their mother has pleaded with the trio to turn themselves in.
But police say the the trio sent a text message to their mother essentially saying, There's a time for all of us to die.
