HUNTINGTON, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) --A heavily traveled Huntington road will receive a facelift, but first officials want to hear from the public.
Architects gathered input from neighbors to aid the design project on Etna Avenue between Jessup Street and the Wabash river.
The goal: To better accommodate vehicles, address flooding problems and improve pedestrian safety.
Michael Krosschell the Landscape Architect says, “Tonight's meeting was the first public meeting we've held. We tried to do more listening than talking to find out the concerns of the neighbors, specific problems that the neighbors are having and identify things that we ought to know as we begin design.”
A blueprint will be presented to the public in early spring. Construction is scheduled for 2013.
