FORT WAYNE, IN (Indiana's NewsCenter) --- Fort Wayne's three main Republican mayoral candidates are working to stay organized, energized, and on message the final days of the campaign.
We caught up with each of them Friday, as they rallied volunteers and sought out voters who will decide the outcome.
The only publicly released poll showed city councilwoman Liz Brown as the GOP frontrunner.
With city clerk candidate Zach Bonahoom by her side, Brown looked the part, hustling door to door in the Pine Valley area late morning, pressing to turn some votes her way.
Liz Brown/(R) Ft. Wayne Mayoral Candidate: " There's a lot that can happen, and like I said, a lot of people are undecided, so, everything they hear and see in the last couple of days is going to change their minds."
"It's not just one person running for mayor, it's a team of people."
Paula Hughes summoned volunteers to her campaign headquarters noontime for lunch and a pep talk about winning the next 72 hours.
Phone banks will be operating here through Monday night, just one of the tasks to be focused on in the race to the finish line.
Paula Hughes/(R) Ft. Wayne Mayoral Candidate: " We've been running radio ads, we're on TV and this grassroots part, reaching out and touching people one by one is that final piece of the whole campaign puzzle."
Jeff Neumeyer: " Early afternoon, the third of three main contenders in the Republican primary, Eric Doden, was out going door to door, trying to flush out votes."
In canvassing Arlington Park, Doden scored points with at least one undecided voter.
Ryan Treesh/Undecided Voter: " I really like it when people take the time to go door to door, and not just try to buy my vote with ads."
Doden, who trailed by 26 points in the poll released Tuesday, believes he's not out of the race yet.
Eric Doden/(R) Ft. Wayne Mayoral Candidate: " We're very, very pleased with where we're at, and feel like that we'll have informed voters who'll make a good decision May 3rd."
The candidates should know if their work pays off, when the final results are tabulated Tuesday evening.
