Huntertown, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Huntertown's plans to build a wastewater treatment plant have been put on hold.
The State Department of Environmental Management has denied the town's permit request saying the plant will cause significant pollution to the Geller Ditch.
The town council wants to build an $11.2 million facility on Hathaway Road, allowing it to cut ties to the Fort Wayne Sewage Treatment Plant.
The option to purchase the 26 acre tract has been extended twice.
The town has 18 days to appeal.
The council president says he isn't sure yet if council will submit an appeal.
