Muncie, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - It was a celebrity-filled day on the campus of Ball State as David Letterman returned to his alma-mater with pop-culture icon Oprah Winfrey.
The media mogul recounted her own childhood’s physical and sexual abuse with David Letterman on Monday during her appearance which was part of a lecture series Letterman sponsors.
The conversation was focused on Winfrey's transition from a childhood defined by poverty and abuse, to an adulthood celebrated for its wealth and generosity.
Oprah said, “I would say to anyone who's had a difficult background, and I know that many of you have, all of our stories matter, I wouldn't take nothing for my journey now.”
About 3,000 Ball State students and others attended the conversation on the Muncie campus.
Hundreds of those students camped out all night, earlier this month, to get free tickets for the event.
