A pedestrian who was hit and run over by a dual semi on West Coliseum Blvd. is in stable condition.

Police say a semi truck turned eastbound onto the frontage access of road along the 2500 block of West Coliseum. The driver of the truck says he did not see the man walking along the side of the road. The truck hit the man and then ran over him. He was wearing dark, non-reflective clothing at the time.

Medics arrived and took the man to the hospital in critical condition. Once at the hospital he was upgraded to critical, but stable condition.

The truck driver was traveling at a low speed, but at the time of the accident the National Weather Service listed visibility at less than a quarter of a mile. The weather conditions likely played a role in the accident.
