WASHINGTON, D.C. (www.incnow.tv) - Gone but never forgotten, the late Civil Rights heroine, Rosa Parks, will now live on forever in the U.S. Capitol.
The statue of Parks was delivered last week. It will be revealed Wednesday as part of the National Statuary Hall. President Obama will speak at the dedication ceremony.
The statue will be the first ever of an African-American woman in the Capitol. Rosa Park’s refusal to give up her bus seat to a white person led to the Montgomery Bus Boycott and helped spark the Civil Rights Movement.
