FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – A recent study claims the majority of parents have Facebook accounts in order to check up on their children.
How many of you parents reading this article signed up for Facebook just to check-up on your kids?
A recent study says 50 percent of parents have a Facebook account to do just that. According to John Kaulfeld, Online Marketing Specialist at IPFW, the study says 42 percent of parents check their child's Facebook everyday, while between 70 and 80 percent check three to four times a week.
Kaulfeld says it could be a good or bad thing, depending on the relationship between parent and child. “I really want it to be a good thing. I want parents to be checking because they're interested,” he said. “I do think a certain percentage are either looking because they're nosey or because they don't feel like they have the kind of relationship where they're really hearing from their kids.”
Kaulfeld predicts the stats of parents checking on their kids to be higher on Twitter because you have the luxury of rejecting followers, or “Friends,” on Facebook.
