FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) --- A trial date has been set for a Fort Wayne driver accused of slamming into a valuable piece of artwork downtown, nearly ruining the structure.
23-year old Colton Adamonis learned Monday that his scheduled trial date is January 7th.
Police say an outdoor sculpture was knocked off its supports back in June when Adamonis jumped a curb in his pickup truck and rammed the steel beams that were crafted to honor Fort Wayne's status as a leader in the magnet wire industry.
Damage is estimated at three quarters of a million dollars.
The artwork is the property of the Fort Wayne Museum of Art.
The most serious charge against Adamonis is institutional criminal mischief, a felony.
