Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) – 31-year-old Tawoenya Portee pleaded guilty to one felony count of neglect of a dependent after facing child abuse charges.

She’ll faces 10-years in prison with two of them suspended when she's sentenced September seventh and may not have contact with the young boy initially accused of beating.

The three-year-old boy told police Portee used shoes, a belt and a bat to beat him.

The boy's mother also pleaded guilty to two felony counts of neglect of a dependent.

The plea agreement calls for 24-year-old Nichole Gruss to serve a total of six years in prison and to have no contact with her son until she's on probation; and only then, they would be supervised visits.

Gruss will be sentenced September fifth.
