DEFIANCE, Ohio (21Alive) – A crash in Defiance County leaves two dead.

Authorities say the crash happened Sunday morning around 11:30 on State Route 66, north of Banner School Road in Tiffin Township.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says Lucas J. Carnahan, 25, of Defiance was driving his Jeep Wrangler southbound on S.R. 66 when he lost control and crossed the center lane.

The Jeep was then struck broadside by a Chevy pick-up truck driven by Bradley E. Bodenbender, 20, of Bryan, Ohio.

Carnahan and his passenger Constance M. Gray, 23, also of Defiance were both killed in the crash.

The driver of the pick-up, Bodenbender, received minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Police say Carnahan was not wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash, but Gray and Bodenbender were wearing their safety belts.

The crash remains under investigation by the Defiance Patrol Post.
