UNITED STATES (www.incnow.tv) - A federal bankruptcy judge clears the way for U.S. Airways and American Airlines to merge into what will become the world’s largest airline.
The $11 billion dollar deal still requires approval from anti-trust regulators and U.S. Airways shareholders before it’s finalized. American has been operating under bankruptcy protection guidelines since November 2011.
The two carriers will account for more than 6,700 flights daily and revenue of approximately $40 billion dollars. The merger is expected to close later this year.
