Luella (Lou) Mae Pepple passed away Tuesday Oct. 20 2009 at her home. Born Oct. 31, 1927 in Auburn, IN she spent her childhood in LaOtto, IN, relocated to Ft. Wayne in 1954 where she lived until death. Lou was employed by ARA food services until retirement in 1990 after 25+ years of service. She then became the manager of Ponytown Campground in Huntertown, IN spending the next 22 years of her retirement, camping, playing bingo and racing through the campground on her gold cart; lifelong loves of hers, until Ponytown closed in 2005.
She found great comfort in the visits by Pastor Bruno of Emmanuel Lutheran Church where she was a member since 1974. Surviving are sons, Steven Pepple, Kevin Stockman, Chuck Miller,and Rick Stockman, all of Ft. Wayne, daughter in law, Deb Pepple, Columbia City, IN, daughters, Melodie (Terry) Bonar, Ft. Wayne, Penny (Jan) Baumgartner, Ft. Wayne, Margo (Ron) Scott, Triadelphia, WV, Lisa Toth, Wheeling, WV, Lorie Stockman, Ft. Wayne, IN, 2 brothers and 4 sisters, 26 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by children David and Robin. Services 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home with calling Friday 2-4 6-8.
