Renier Resigns As Luers Girls Coach (VIDEO)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – State championship Bishop Luers High School girls basketball coach Denny Renier has resigned.

21Alive confirmed that Renier told his team of his decision on Monday.

In five seasons as Lady Knights head coach, Renier won one state championship (2011 in Class 2A), 3 semi-state championships, four regional championships and four sectional championships and 1 Summit Athletic Conference Championship (2011).

His teams went 93-33 overall.

"Bishop Luers would like to thank Denny Reiner for his dedication to the Luers Lady Knights Basketball program," the school tweeted (@BishopLuers).


Prior to his promotion as head coach in 2009, Renier was an assistant coach at Luers for more than 20 years.
