Komets' Win Streak Ends In Kalamazoo

By Dean Pantazi

(Kalamazoo, Michigan) - Playing without two of their top scorers, the Komets fell in a shootout Monday night 5-4 to the Kalamazoo Wings.
Colin Chaulk missed the game with the flu, and Matthieu Curadeau with a lingering leg injury, but the K's managed to get a 2-1 lead after a period on goals by Evgeny Saidachev and P.C. Drouin, and then rallied for a 4-4 tie in the third on scores by Luciano Aquino and Konstantin Shafranov.
But the Wings made the lone goal in the shootout by Ryan Markham stand up for the win that snpped a ten game Fort Wayne winning streak.
The K's try to extended the record breaking home win streak to 20 games Wednesday night against Flint.
