Komet Party Sets Records For Jersey Auction

By Dean Pantazi

(Fort Wayne) - Over 2.500 fans turned out Wednesday night for the The IHL Turner Cup Champion Komets annual End-of-Season Party and Jersey auction at the Memorial Coliseum and raised a record total of $35,350, smashing the old record amount raised of $33,010 in 1993. Jerseys and some special items auctioned combined for the total amount.

Komet rookie center and IHL Playoffs MVP Justin Hodgman's number 88 jersey topped all of the jerseys sold with a $5,500 winning bid, breaking the record bid of $3,450 for defenseman Grant Richison's number 4 jersey worn during the 1992-93 Turner Cup Championship season.
