Cougars 56 game winning streak at D'Arcy come to end

By WISE Web Sports

(Fort Wayne)- The last time USF lost a game at D'Arcy stadium it was '01. A string of 56 straight home wins came to an end on Saturday with 6th ranked St. Xavier beating the 8th ranked Cougars 36.24.

USF leaves the game wondering what could have been. All American running back Daniel Carter pulled a hamstring on the first drive of the game and never returned. Last year he broke a single game rushing record against St. X with 239 on the ground, on Saturday he got just 36. The bad part for USF was Carter still ended up the leading rusher on the day.

St. Francis should still gain a berth tot he USF playoffs with a win over Taylor in the regular season finale.
