MUNCIE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Ball State University fired men's basketball head coach Billy Taylor on Thursday after six seasons with the Cardinals.
Ball State finished 15-15 overall, 8-8, in the Mid-American Conference this season. The Cards lost in the second round of the MAC Tournament in Cleveland.
Taylor was 84-99--44-52 in the conference--since taking over in 2007.
"This was a difficult decision," Ball State athletic director Bill Scholl said in a statement. "Under his guidance our student-athletes conducted themslves properly and our most recent APR score was our highest rating since 2004-2005."
A new coach will be expected to compete for conference championships, Scholl says.
