UNDATED (www.incnow.tv) - The firing by the Chicago Bears of Lovie Smith as head coach Monday was one of seven dismissals of NFL head coaches on the day after the end of the NFL regular season.
Smith's firing was the biggest surprise, after the Bears had gone 10-6 and been in the hunt for a playoff spot on the final weekend.
Also let go Monday, Pat Shurmur by Cleveland, Andy Reid by Philadelphia, Norv Turner by San Diego, Ken Whisenhunt by Arizona, Romeo Crennel by Kansas City, and Chan Gailey by Buffalo, all by teams with losing records this past season.
