UNDATED (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The baseball seasons of both Bellmont in 3A and Blackhawk Christian in 1A were ended Saturday when their opponents had late inning winning rallies to win semi-state titles.
At Kokomo, Western took the lead on a seventh inning Mitchell Shahan two run double, part of a six run uprising that lifted Western to their 11-6 win over Bellmont in the 3A semi-state.
The Braves had moved in front on a two run homer by Brian Hakes in the bottom of the sixth.
At South Bend, three time defending 1A champ Lafayette Central Catholic scored three times in the bottom of the sixth to snap a 1-1 tie and end Blackhawk's season 4-1.
Matt Kaplanis drove in the Braves' only run with a first inning ground rule double.
