Bruce Stephens Hired As New Haven Boys Coach

NEW HAVEN, Ind. (21Alive) - New Haven High School hires Bruce Stephens as new boys basketball coach.

Stephens served as an assistant under Gooden since 1996 at New Haven and Harding High School.

With Gooden, Stephens won back-to-back Northeast Hoosier Conference championships and a sectional crown at New Haven.

At Harding, Stephens was part of a staff that won the 2001 2A state championship, 5 semi-state championships, 6 regional championships, 10 sectional championships and 4 Summit Athletic Conference championships.

Gooden left New Haven in June to accept the boys basketball head coaching job at Indianapolis Lawrence Central.
