FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - Championship swimming & diving coach Chad Englehart has resigned from Homestead High School after 17 seasons.

Englehart announced the decision Monday in a statement released by the Homestead athletic department. He will pure other career opportunities, the school says.

"It is truly rewarding to have been part of such a successful program," Englehart said.

Under Englehart, Homestead boys were 2-time runners-up (2004 & 2006) and Homestead girls were 2011 runners-up. Individually, the Spartans amassed 13 individual state championships, 27 and 123 All-Americans.

Englehart was elected to the Indiana High School Swimming & Diving Hall of Fame class of 2015.
