Gaines Preseason All League Pick, Dons Slotted Sixth

ELMHURST, ILLINOIS (Indiana's NewsCenter) - IPFW junior guard Frank Gaines has been named to the preseason All-Summit League First Team, while the team was picked to finish sixth in the league in the preseason poll of league coaches, SIDs, and media.

Gaines, who was named to the All-League Honorable Mention squad after last season, returns after leading the team in scoring (14.8 points per game), rebounding (6.2), and steals (28), while finishing second on the team in blocked shots (20) from his guard position.

As a team the Mastodons picked up 257 poll points, good for sixth. Oral Roberts was tabbed as the preseason favorite with 473 total points and 27 of 31 first-place votes.
