FORT WAYNE (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Thomas Beauregard's tie breaking goal midway through the third period broke a 3-3 tie and the Wichita Thunder remain alive in the CHL Ray Miron President's Cup Finals after a 4-3 Game 4 win over the Komets Saturday night.
The K's broke out to a 1-0 lead on a penalty shot just 19 seconds into the game by Mike Vaskivuo.
Daniel Tetrault matched that for Wichita, and then Chris Auger tallied on a power play for the Komets, only to see Matt Summers pul the Thunder even again late in the period.
Jean-Michel Rizk gave Fort Wayne their third lead of the night in the second period at 3-2, and Aaron Davis pulled Wichita even for a third time later in that period.
The Komets lost though outshooting Wichita 36-20, and not included in those 36 shots were the six Fort Wayne shots that either hit a post or the crossbar.
The series now requires a Game 5, and that will be Monday night at the Memorial Coliseum.
