INDEPENDENCE, MISSOURI (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Ed McGrane's first period shorthanded goal broke a 1-1 tie and helped the Missouri Mavericks to a 5-2 win over the Komets Saturday night and a 3-2 lead in the CHL Turner Conference final series.

Game 6 is Tuesday night at the Memorial Coliseum and the Komets must win it to keep their season alive.

Missouri's John-Scott Dixon opened the scoring 39 seconds into the game, but that goal was match by the Komets' J.M. Rizk before McGrane tallied his key shorthanded goal.

Brandon Smith added another score for a 3-1 lead after one period.

Franke DeAngelis pulled the Komets within a goal at 3-2 in the second period, but Missorui got that one back three minutes later and stretched their lead to the final margin with a third period goal.
