WICHITA, KANSAS (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Chris Auger tallied a pair of goals and the Komets downed the Wichita Thunder 5-3 Saturday night to take a 1-0 lead in the CHL President's Cup Finals.
Goals by Jamie Milam and Bobby Chaumont staked the K's to a 2-0 lead after one period, but after Auger scored to make it 3-1 in the second, Wichita's Thomas Beauregard scored twice in a minute's time for a 3-3 tie after two.
Auger's second goal pushed the K's in front to stay in the third and Jamie Lovell's empty net score with a second left finished off the win.
The two teams meet again Sunday night in Wichita.
