LEO (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Leo's defense held down South Bend Washington's playmakers, but the visiting Panthers also played great defense and picked up a 13-3 win that ended Leo's season at the semi-state level.
Washington star receiver Gehrig Dieter was held to one catch, and their star runner David Perkins was held to 71 yards rushing, but Perkins returned an interception 61 yards for a clinching touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Alex Egan's 29 yard field goal in the first quarter was Leo's only scoring and gave the Lions a brief 3-0 lead.
