Fort Wayne (Indiana's NewsCenter)—Sycamore Hills Golf Club announced at a press conference today that Davis Love, III, will keynote the 37th Junior PGA Championship to be held at Sycamore Hills July 31-August 3, 2012. Love, a PGA champion and captain of the 2012 U.S. Ryder Cup Team, will speak to the public at the opening ceremony on July 30 on the 18th green. PGA Junior Golf Manager Chris Childers was also present and is in Fort Wayne overseeing preparations for the championship.

“We are honored to have the Junior PGA Championship back at Sycamore Hills for a third consecutive year,” said Eric Schneider, general manager and COO of Sycamore Hills Golf Club. “And with Davis Love, current Ryder Cup captain, launching the event, it is sure to provide a memorable start to this significant national championship.”

“These kids are phenomenal,” added Barry LaBov, president of Sycamore Hills. “The level of play with these juniors on such a difficult course is amazing. You see them make some shots and have to think twice to realize they are sometimes just 14-15 years old. We look forward to sharing this event with the Fort Wayne community and invite everyone to attend.”

Among his many titles, Love has won 20 times on the PGA Tour and is one of the few players to ever gain PGA Tour Life Member status. He won the PGA Championship in 1997 and is a two-time TPC Champion.

2011 Champions Cody Proveaux and Ariya Jutanugarn are planning to return to defend their titles. In addition to winning the Patty Berg trophy, Jutanugarn also set a Sycamore Hills course women’s record. Practice rounds for the Junior PGA Championship are July 29 and 30. The tournament officially begins July 31 and the final round will be on August 3, 2012. Attendance is free and open to the public.
