Notre Dame Rally Falls Short At Stanford

STANFORD, Cal. (21 Alive) - Tommy Rees brought 25th ranked Notre Dame back with two second half touchdown passes, but eighth rated Stanford held off the Irish rally for a 27-20 win over Notre Dame Saturday night.

Tyler Gaffney ran for 189 yards and a touchdown to lead Stanford, now 10-2.

Notre Dame closed the regular season at 8-4 and now awaited the site, date and opponent of their bowl game in a few weeks.
