Purdue, who did not have scoring leader Terone Johnson because of a bad ankle, squandered a six point halftime lead.
Donnie Hale scored 15 points to pace Purdue with D.J. Byrd and Ronnie Johnson each adding a dozen.
Former South Side star Rapheal Davis had four points in his official Purdue debut.
